Human
The most abundant race, Humans are physically weak but have an unparalleled ability to command Pokemon.

Background
The most common civilized people, what they lack in raw power, they make up for in their industrious nature. Always expanding, always growing, Human populations dwarf those of every other race. And though they lack the direct connection to Pokemon other races have, they are able to command Pokemon like no other.

Abilities
-Pokemon Taming: In this world where Pokeballs don’t exist, taming and Pokemon is a bit more difficult than it is in the world of Pokemon we are used to. Humans, however, have a special aura commonly referred to as a ‘commanding presence’ that Pokemon seem to be attracted to, making them naturally subservient and easier to tame. Where this came from is unknown; some biologists reason that it may have been an evolutionary adaptation to assure their success as a species, while other people (mostly spiritual leaders) have claimed that humans are the ‘chosen ones’ by the gods to use this power to lead the world into a golden age. In any case, it’s thanks to this ability that humans are easily able to form bonds with Pokemon, forming a symbiotic relationship where the human guides and leads their Pokemon while their in turn protect their leader. While non-humans can generally only train one Pokemon, or two at most, humans can train as many as six Pokemon without strain.

-Mega Evolution Syncing: The special power of Mega Evolution is not unknown to this universe, and in fact it is not Pokemon alone who can do it. Gijinkas and Pokemorphs too can Mega Evolve, but like Pokemon, they can only do so through the help of a bonded Human partner. The Mega Stone wielded by the Human acts like a catalyst, unlocking the potential power in their ally. No matter who their partner is, the bond between Human and Mega Evolver must be close, whether they be friends, trusted partners, family, or lovers.

-Aura Reading: Though fairly rare, a select few Humans have learned to actually utilize their aura, or their life force, in ways other than taming Pokemon. They gain the ability to see the aura or all creatures, and are able to divine info from this in one way or another. This includes powers such as reading emotions based on aura color, tracking someone through the aura signature they left behind, or seeing the aura of living things through walls. Such powers are never offensive in nature, and are generally activated through sight.

Gijinka
A species with humanlike appearance but Pokemon features and abilities that is in tune with the natural world.

Background
Gijinkas are a species that are as old, if not even older than Humans. They a curious mix of Humans and Pokemon; though mostly Human in appearance, they also have distinct features of a Pokemon specific to each individual. But not only do they physically resemble that Pokemon, they will bear their powers as well. Like Humans they have always had their civilized societies, but have always preferred more natural settings like their Pokemon kin. As such Gijinka are rare in large cities, usually found in scattered rural communities (with the exception of Steel and Electric Gijinkas, who feel more comfortable there than most of their kin). They also naturally driven to environments fitting for their Pokemon species, so for example coastal communities will often feature Water Gijinkas, while isolated mountainous ones may feature types such as Rock or Dragon.

Abilities
-Pokemon Powers: Gijinka have powers that are near identical to those of their given species. They can have four moves and an ability, just like Pokemon, and can replace their moves like Pokemon can. They can even Mega Evolve under the right circumstances, but require a Human’s help to do so.

-Pokespeech: Gijinka can understand the ‘language’ that Pokemon speak with full comprehension and even speak back in return. Though it is possible to learn the basics of what a Pokemon is trying to communicate by their expressions, tone, and actions, only Gijinkas can comprehend it just as well as a Human comprehends their first language.

Though they share a bond with Pokemon, their relationship is more one of peers rather than servant and master, and lack the ability to command Humans have. As such, they can only train as many as two Pokemon at once.

Elemental
A rare brand of Gijinka who are physically more human and can harness the powers of an entire Pokemon type.

Background
Also known as Type Gijinkas, Elementals are in actually a kind of Gijinka rather than a unique species. The distinct difference between the two is that while a normal Gijinka has the features and powers of a specific Pokemon, Elementals are representative of an entire Pokemon Type. Physically they often look more Human than the typical Gijinka, but carry unique features of their type, such as red hair and an unnaturally warm body for a Fire Elemental, or silver hair and smooth pale skin for a Steel Elemental. Occasionally though, they will have features that are distinctly not Human, such as a Flying Elemental with wings or a Bug Elemental with four arms. Elementals always have a small chance of being born instead of a regular Gijinka, though the chances are more likely if one or both of the parents are Elementals themselves. Elementals can be quite powerful due to having the powers of an entire type, but they have a major flaw in being extremely weak to their type’s natural weaknesses, even more so than a Pokemon Gijinka of the same type.

Abilities
-Type Powers: Rather than the powers of a specific Pokemon they have the abilities of an entire type. Though they have a lot of options they lack flexibility since they can’t use anything that isn’t based on their own type.

-Pokespeech: Since Elementals are technically Gijinkas too, they also have the ability to understand Pokemon and speak their language.

Strengths
-Have the powers of a whole type, and are equally resilient as Gijinkas are
-Understands Pokespeech

Weaknesses
-Hard countered by the natural weaknesses of their type

Moves
Elementals can know up to six moves, but all moves have to be the type of the Gijinka.

Abilities
Elementals can have a single ability that is related to their type. It can be any ability that a Pokemon of their type can have, but is generally an ability fitting for the type as a whole rather than just a select evolution line.

Pokemon
Like Gijinkas, Elementals can only train two Pokemon at most, though they typically attract Pokemon of the same type as them.

Pokemorph
A species created by science, similar to a Gijinka but with an appearance more like an anthropomorphic Pokemon.

Background
Originally created in an attempt to artificially give Humans the powers of a Gijinka, Pokemorphs have become their own unique species with their own identity. Like Gijinkas they inherit the physical features and powers of a specific Pokemon, but they appear to be more Pokemon than them. While Gijinkas are Humans with Pokemon features, Pokemorphs look more like anthropomorphized versions of the Pokemon they resemble (assuming the Pokemon wasn’t anthro already). There are two kinds of Pokemorphs: 1st Generations and 2nd Generations. 1st Generation Pokemorphs were born Human but received the procedure that turns one into a Pokemorph. Only Humans can become Pokemorphs; the bodies of Gijinkas and Elementals reject the effects of the procedure. 2nd Generations were born Pokemorphs from having Pokemorph parents. Some people chose to become Pokemorphs because they wanted cool new powers or a new identity, but many did so out of necessity. Because Pokemon are naturally more robust and harder to get sick than Humans, an unintended side effect of the procedure was that subjects could survive ailments or wounds that originally would’ve killed them. As such, many Humans become Pokemorphs to cure illnesses or injuries that are otherwise incurable (or too far along to be cured) and likely would have killed them or crippled them for life, the most notable of which is cancer. Since they feature the largest Human populations and are often where the hospitals that can perform the Pokemon creating procedure are located, most Pokemorphs live in cities.

Abilities
-Pokemon Powers: Pokemorphs can have the moves and abilities of their Pokemon species, and in this regards are very similar to Gijinkas. And like Gijinkas, they can Mega Evolve with the help of a Human

-Boosted Constitution: As they ultimately became a solution to Human frailty, Pokemorphs have a natural endurance to them they is even closer to a Pokemon than Gijinkas. They are quick to recover, heal from wounds quickly, and rarely if ever get sick. They is limited to physical wounds and illnesses though; this does not help with an mental illnesses they may have.

-Resistant to getting sick and recovers from injuries quickly

Though the procedure that makes a Human a Pokemorph provides many benefits, one thing they lose from the process is their commanding presence. As such, Pokemorphs can only train up to two Pokemon at once.

Chimera
An uncommon kind of Pokemorph that is a fusion of the qualities of several Pokemon put onto a single form.

Background
Created during the early experiments with Pokemorphs just to see if it was possible, Chimeras are a Pokemorph that is several Pokemon fused together. Considering most Chimeras are created intentionally such fusions are generally aesthetically pleasing and not some horrible abomination, but there are always exceptions. Like Pokemorphs, there are both 1st Generation and 2nd Generation Chimeras. 1st Generations are Humans who chose to become a Chimera instead of a Pokemorph, while 2nd Generations are a rare result (about as rare as Elementals are for Gijinkas) of a coupling of two Pokemorphs. Chimeras can be a mix of any two or even three Pokemon, but 2nd Generations are typically a fusion of the Pokemon of each of their parents. Unfortunately, Chimeras cannot Mega Evolve even if all their fused Pokemon can normally do so, and are always sterile.

Abilities
-Pokemon Powers: Like Pokemorphs they have the powers of Pokemon, but unlike them they have the powers of more than one Pokemon. However, the mixing of DNA from several Pokemon have ‘muddied’ their abilities so to speak, so they tend to not be as strong as a pure Pokemorph. This gives them effectively the opposite problem of an Elemental: while Elementals are highly specialized and powerful but easily counted by their type’s weaknesses, Chimeras are often very flexible and aren’t easily countered, but their powers are typically not very strong.

-Boosted Constitution: Since Chimeras are pretty much just Pokemorphs with more than one Pokemon making up their form, Chimeras benefit from the same added resistances as Pokemorphs do.

-Have the powers of multiple Pokemon instead of just one
-Resistant to getting sick and recovers from injuries quickly

Weaknesses
-Lack the raw power of other races with a single Pokemon or type

Moves
Chimeras can have up to six moves, typically three moves from each Pokemon (or two of each Pokemon for Chimeras that are three Pokemon instead of two). However, they cannot have any move with a base power of 90 or above, unless the move is used at a great sacrifice to the user, such as Explosion, Final Gambit, or Hyper Beam.

Abilities
Chimeras can have two Pokemon abilities instead of just one, but each ability has to be from a different Pokemon.

Pokemon
Since they don’t have commanding presence, Chimeras also can only train two Pokemon at once. They often find forming bonds with Pokemon more difficult than usual though, as Pokemon often find their mixing of several Pokemon forms to be off putting.

Android
Only recently brought into existence, Androids are artificial life created to be soldiers that mimics the powers of Pokemon.

Background
The most recently created of the races, the Androids were a military project to create super soldiers. Robotic technology had been advancing for decades, but of course it took the interest and budget of the government to make true artificial sentience possible. Though very advanced, the Androids only have about equal intelligence to a Human, though this was partially intentional as to not give them an advantage over their creators. Though created to serve as soldiers, they are mostly granted the same liberties as any sentient creature since they are fully capable of rebelling if they are unsatisfied with their conditions. Physically the Androids mostly look Human on the exterior, but a few features may give away their true nature, and if wounded the metal and circuits found under the skin are a dead giveaway. There are only twenty six Androids in existence, one for each letter in the English alphabet. The first letter of their given name corresponds with their representative letter. Twelve are physically male, twelve are physically female, and the first two created, who were prototypes for the remaining ones, look more robotic and are genderless.

Abilities
-Combat Functions: Androids were built for battle, and as such have powers that mimic those of a Pokemon. Typically, Androids carry or have built in weapons that function in a similar manner to Pokemon moves. There three kinds of Androids: Physical users, Special users, and Status users. Physical Androids specialize in physical moves, Special Androids in special moves, and Status Androids are supportive Androids that mostly use status moves to aid allies or hinder enemies. Of the twenty six Androids, nine are physical, nine are special, and eight are status.

-Robotic Immunities: Being a machine, Androids are afforded special benefits that come with it. They do not need to eat, drink, or breathe (though do have to power down and charge to sustain themselves, which mimics sleep), can’t be affected by mental powers (but can be hacked), and cannot be poisoned. They also do not give off any aura, so aura reading is useless on them (though the lack of an aura is a pretty clear indicator to their true nature, for those who can see it).

Strengths
-Built in combat functions and added resilience from being made of metal
-Lacks weaknesses specific to organic creatures

Weaknesses
-Has weaknesses specific to artificial life, such as being capable of being hacked or being able to be affected by EMP
-Complete lack of aura makes bonding with Pokemon difficult

Moves
Androids can have up to six moves, but at least four of the moves have to match what kind of user they are (for example a Physical using Android has to have at least four of their moves be physical).

Abilities
Androids do not have Pokemon abilities, but typically have other powers that are unique to them.

Pokemon
Pokemon have a basic sense of a creature’s aura, and are typically unnerved by an Android’s lack of one. As such, Androids can at most only have one Pokemon that they can train and form a bond with, and even then doing so with just one Pokemon would prove difficult.
