Legitimate Business Deals

This was the place: The Hound's Den, a seedy pub located in the inner city by an alleyway, a sign with a Houndoom spitting a fireball on the front of the building. It had no windows, and the only obvious sign of what this place was besides guessing from the name was a little chalkboard folding sign in front of the door with daily alcohol special written on it, proudly proclaiming that tonight was "Free Beer Tuesday". By that it meant that they would give you a free beer after you had already drunken to the point of nearly passing out. And of course, there was not a single window to see inside the building. The place looked as shady as a bar could get, which made sense considering it was a popular spot for people looking to do some 'legitimate business'.
Many years ago, when the Manifesto was less established, Ardan would meet with members here rather frequently. But as the organization and its base grew larger, the place saw less use over the years. However, it was still an ideal place to talk with agents on Coin Island away from prying eyes, when having them come to him was too much of a risk. That was the risk with the Mayor of Sun City, who was obviously too important as a person to just slip away to a hidden island base to talk business. With all his leadership duties being away from public view, it was simpler for Ardan to just come to him instead.
Entering the bar brought back memories of times long ago when Ardan knew every member of the Manifesto by name and they cared for each other like brothers. That time was long since gone though, and even if he missed it, he knew the organization had to grow to something much more than a small band of brothers if he had any hope of starting the revolution he dreamed of. After a short talk with the bartender and a transaction of money Ardan received a bottle of whiskey, two glasses, and the key to a back room in the bar used for people who wanted to have a bit of privacy while they drank for one reason or another. After entering the room he set his items down on a round table of chairs placed around it and sat down at a chair facing the door. The Manifesto boss was a punctual man and came right as he was supposed to, and if his associate was equally as punctual he would be arriving any moment now.
