Don, the Luxray Gijinka

Appearance:
A young adult male in his mid 20s, the only thing Don regrets about his physical appearance is not hitting the gymn. He's not fat by any standard, in fact, underneath his stylish clothes and flowing black mane, he's a bit on the scrawny side for a large predator cat gijinka. He has retained enough of his pokemon DNA to sport his key Luxray features; large blue ears with yellow inner fur, the iconic star tail, and a flowing black mane encasing his entire head and neck, save for his face. And the eyes... blood red eyes as is common for the Luxray line.
Personality:
While at work, Don is very kind and courteous to his customers; this isn't an act, but how he carries himself in life. He will always look you in the eyes and smile. Despite having a slight social anxiety, he generally loves pleasing people. His personality would be best described as... the strong, silent type. Unless you have a specific question or concern for him, you'll get a wide smile, and a nod. He could spend an entire car ride with another person in quiet contemplation, or simply listen to them talk the whole way; he would enjoy both. That's not to say he won't talk... once he's comfortable with you, he "comes out of his shell" so to speak, and will freely talk, though still values his quiet time when needed. The exception to this is of course work; when you're in the customer service industry, not talking is almost certainly a death sentence. He would prefer to spend the day quietly stocking shelves or sorting freight in the back, rather than at the register or customer service desk, but he'll do either without complaint, drawing from the "willing to please" part of him.
Don values friendship highly, and can adapt to any social situation; in fact, when two of his friends were in a flame war, he was able to stay friends with both of them, despite each one being on a completely different side. This is due to one of his greatest strengths; empathy. He can see things from another's point of view, empathize with them, understand where they're coming from. Seeing others in pain or distress causes him distress as well, even in things such as TV shows.
Don is exceptional at figuring things out, discovering how they work, finding solutions to problems. He knows more about the computer systems at work than most upper managers, and has a firmer grasp on science than most people.
The flaws: Pride; Don is proud of the things he does, insulting or downplaying them leads to anything from frustration to salt, or even anger. Jealousy; if Don has a good friend, and sees them interacting with other friends without answering a text or something similar, he takes it personally. Why couldn't they at least answer him? Was he that unimportant? Why were the others so much more important that he deserved to be ignored? If his friends are invited to an event, but he is not, it'll eat him up inside. Laziness; despite his endless inquisitive nature, and his affinity for tinkering with and finding solutions to problems that baffle most people, his motivation to actually put those skills to work is... lacking. If he had the proper motivation, he could probably be a software developer, computer technician, engineer, or other such positions of intellect. Instead, he works at a beachfront store, which honestly does not bother him as much as it should. Due to his intellectual interest and ever burning curiosity, he absolutely hates secrets, many times to a fault, and simply can't stand it when he knows something is there, but the other person refuses to tell him.
History:
Don started life in Moon Villiage, to a family of Luxray that ran a hiking shop. He helped around the store when he wasn't in school, and played in the outside area in his free time with his friends. Being in the volcanic area, naturally he was surrounded by rock and ground types; this made life... interesting for the electric gijinka. Basically, he learned how to pick his fights very quickly, and the only time he won was the stray fire or flying type. That's not to say he loved fighting... actually, he prefers to avoid it, if possible. When facing nothing but rock ground types all day every day, fighting got painful, fast.
The amount of humans passing through Moon Villiage fascinated him as a child. Their technology, their handheld games, their phones, their tales from the big city; working in a store, you hear a lot of customers talk about city life on their way up the mountain. Tourists from all over, city folk, everyone had something to say, a story to tell about skyscrapers, bright lights, billboards, fancy cars. He didn't resent his rural upbringing, it was a pleasant childhood, but he yearend for something more. Eventually, at 18, with his parent's blessing, he was able to move to a suburb of Sun City, near the beach; not exactly the cheapest housing, but his miniscule one bedroom apartment was all he needed as he started his new job at the beachside store, eventually becoming a support manager. Not assistant or store yet, but if he kept at hit, he was well on his way!
Don met his one and only pokemon companion first when he was 13. He witnessed a pair of Skarmory harassing a very young Shinx, it looked badly hurt. Its mother had clearly abandoned it, possibly because it was a runt, but the reason was unknown. The poor thing was still a kitten. The Skarmories looked tough, but fortunately for Don, they fried under the assault of x4 lightning blasts, even from a small child. Was it fate that led him to nurse a wounded Shinx kitten to health, being that he was also from the Shinx line? Perhaps. A Gajinka and a Shinx, Don the Child knew that little kitten better than anyone except for it's mother; but she was nowhere to be found. He became her guardian, her protector. As they grew together, their bond became inseparable. She remains by his side to this day, now also a fully grown Luxray.

Details: Raised from kittenhood by Don, this quirky kitty is often found sleeping the day away as most cats do. At night, she either stays with Don or prowls the streets, depending on what she fancies and where her whims take her. Her sassy nature compliments Don's sense of humor quite well. Being of both the same species and lifelong partners, they can pinpoint each other's cries/roars out of a crowd and across variable distances, depending on how far sound carries.
Don allowed her to choose her own name when she was ready, giving her a more cultural sounding name, rather than a human-attributed one like "scout" or "spark."
